- Grading or drainage planning: Drone-based topographic data works well here, since you’re mapping surface shape, not legal lines.
- General site visualization for a buyer, investor, or planning meeting: Drone footage does the job fine on its own.
Plenty of projects use both. Drone data speeds up planning and gives you a clear picture of the site early on. A licensed surveyor’s fieldwork locks in the legal details once it’s time to build, finance, or record anything with the county.
Knowing which outcome you actually need, before you hire anyone, is what keeps a project moving instead of stalling out on a technicality.
